Would love to be here on the blog, telling you all about the wonderful things I have been learning and doing, but frankly it's just too low and the priority list right now. I've learned how to make my own sourdough starter and have been making some lovely sourdough breads and learning all kinds of things to do with the starter.
Making apple sauce and apple butter, and hopefully some apple cider as friends of ours have a cider press has been keeping us busy. The family we get milk from has had lots of extra so we have been dappling into some cheese making too. And I've been trying to chip away at decluttering and organizing the house, and fall cleaning. And lots of other things, but long story short, I've been busy, and I do hope to get back here to you before too long. Blessings!c

dang christi u have been busy, and your doing all of that with 2 little girls too. YOU ARE SUPER MOM! i bet that homemade apple sauce & cheese is gona be good. never had it myself, as far as i know of, lol. i wonder if they have a homemade shampoo & conditioner you could make. i bet you could make homemade stuff and sell it. you seem so good at that kind of stuff. i wouldnt have the patience for it any. hope everyone's doing good.
ReplyDeleteHow do you like that apple corer/peeler/slicer I see in the picture? We canned about 15 gallons of pears but didn't use ours--long story. It was a lot of work, but I'm wondering if that mechanism will make it easier next time. -ENF
ReplyDeleteThe apple peeler is borrowed and I've found it to be a HUGE blessing. I managed to peel and slice in less time what it took three people to do. I hope I won't have to do without it again. Was 15 gallons of pears your starting weight or your finishing? I'm hoping to put up about 25 quarts of apple sauce...pears will be next on the list, but I think I'm going to do pear halves.
ReplyDeleteJanna...I'm NOT super mom I fail big around here all the time but I do work hard and try hard and forgive myself and try again when I fail. I actually do make my own shampoo and conditioner, but no one would want to buy it, it's so easy to make. You can read about it here:
