Living your priorities

I haven't been around much lately, as you can see. Life has really been happening here, and some times it really bothers me that I'm not able to post as often as I would like. I have been learning so much, from life skills to spiritual lessons, that I want to share. But right now, this blog is not my top priority. My priorities, not that I always live them, go as follows:
1. God- my relationship with Him and obedience to Him.
2. The Man
3. My children
4. My health both mental and physicalThere as so many good things to be involved in. I'm passionate about so many things, cloth diapering, natural child birth, holistic health, hospitality, whole foods, home-schooling, bible studies, being debt free, knitting, making my own yogurt. Need I go on? because I could. No joke.
I had some friends who I used to babysit for every once in a while, with three lovely kids. I remember the mother was one of the first people to mention to me the dangers of cooking in teflon pots and pans. They had gotten rid of all theirs and replaced them with healthier alternatives. And from what I know, she was right, it's not a good idea to cook with those pots. But a year or so later the couple was divorced and their three child confused and heart broken. I think you get my point. What does it matter if you do all kinds of good things with your time and your life, but you get divorced, go to hell, or your child becomes a thief, drug addict, or worse, because of lack of training, attention, and love, but dog-gone-it, you fed them healthy 100% homemade meals! I remember Donna Otto, from my beloved Homemakers By Choice podcast, once said to figure out the things in your life that no one else can do for you, that you can't delegate to someone else. No one else can have a relationship with God for you. No one else can be a wife to your husband, and a daughter to your mother, or a mother to your children. But if those things are getting left behind, someone else CAN teach the Sunday school class, or make your yogurt :) I've found it to be health reminder of what is really important in life. Some times I have to walk away from the cooking dinner or the dishes or the laundry or the computer and just be with my children, read them a book or rock them and love...because no one else can be their mama. And their mama is everything to them right now. How's that for a scary thought? But that's a whole new blog post, lol. I pray that all my passionate posts and inspirational ideas never encourage you to get your priorities out of wack. Blessings!c

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Mark 8:36

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former." ~Jesus (Matthew 23:23)
