Things have been busy the last few weeks. The house closing ran into one snag and then another, but amazing it only closed a day late, on Tuesday of last week. Though The Man was home (btw-"home" is a very flexible term theses days, basically anywhere we can both be together) there have been a number of deaths in his unit and he was away quite a bit on funeral detail. But somehow we managed to get all packed up and into storage, between mumbled grumblings of burning everything we owned to just hitting the road. It's truly amazing how much you can hate the things you own if you have to deal with it all in a short amount of time, lol. And by Thursday night we had arrived at our new home, for the time being, room 139. The Man left on Sunday for another funeral, and it looks like he'll been gone for a week. In the meantime, I've been checking out our new town, and have been surprised to fine that I rather like it.
I've dreamt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas; they've gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the colour of my mind.Well I hope you life is full of lovely dreams right now :) Blessings!c
Have you ever heard of the book 'Clutter's Last Stand' by Don Aslett? He has a professional cleaning business and his book is hilarious. My Mom ordered it after my sister was born, there would have been four of us kids at the time - and we had sooo much stuff! Anyway, Mom got the book, then went and LOST it in the clutter for 3 days! Since then my Mom's motto is, if it doesn't need to be hugged or fed, throw it out! LOL! Life is just so much easier without tons of stuff. Especially when you're moving - ick.
ReplyDeleteWuthering Heights was an interesting book; very dark, like you said. Have you read any of the other Bronte sisters?
You're new town looks cute! Enjoy exploring. :)
I agree, but my standard has been, if I don't LOVE it or use it it should go. And even some of those things need to go. The house plan The Man and I have picked out is under 1000 sq ft, so I have purged several times and plan to do it several more times before we move.
ReplyDeleteI have read more Bronte. Jane Eyre is one of my all time favorite books. But I think these are the only two I have read.
